Combine a meaningful slogan with an edible freebie and you’re on to a winner!
What was it?
A team of the finest Brand Managers money can buy was required to hand out 300 waffles (the sugary, not the potato variety) to promote Grant Thornton presentations on campus.

We teamed up with agency Stafford Long, and worked closely with Grant Thornton, to create a client, agency, and media dreamteam and bring this project to reality.
Grant Thornton were keen to enhance their profile amongst students and compete against the Big 4 Accountancy firms through promotion of their straight talking student schemes demonstrating that the waffle is ‘the only waffle you will get from us’… Ruddy genius I say!
Where did it happen?
At 6 top ranking universities including Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham, Manchester, Durham and Warwick.
Who was targeted?
1st and 2nd year Business School Students interested in placement or internship opportunities.
What was the result?
There were a lot of students with a sugar high as the waffles went down very well, however it wasn’t all about feeding malnourished students. Maria from Grant Thornton gave some feedback on the campaign, 'We had more applications via RateMyPlacement than we did due to TargetJobs, Gradjobs, Top Employers, Prospects, GET, Grad Elite, Vault, Real World and Monster'. In addition, the campaign was recognised by the industry bods; it’s not quite the Oscars but the ‘No Waffle’ campaign was described as a ‘cheeky chappy graduate giveaway’ and recognised with anĀ RiFiver Award.
